Week 6

Josie in a cute outfit from my childhood best friend Kate. I thought, when I first saw it, that it would be months before it fit!
Josie's Aunt Tina . . .
. . . and Grandma Cathy came all the way from Alaska to meet her!
And then, there should be pictures from my birthday, but I had mastitis with a healthy fever of 103. We went to the zoo two days later--overall I think she will like it better when she's a little older!

January 21st

Josie enjoys having visitors. I think she really likes to hear someone besides me talking. Mia (8 months) really liked Josie as well!
After the visit we got all dressed up to go take me to a meeting.
Josie and Betty went for a walk and then by the time we returned home, she was very tired!
And slept for the rest of the afternoon. I went to the grocery store all by myself while she slept!

Week 5--the ceiling fan

It doesn't work--our livingroom fan--so about 45 seconds after I "turn it on" she calls for me to come turn it on again!

week 5

Josie's baby acne developed this week so the best images are without flash. Here she is taking a very long nap in her crib.
And here she is investigating the toy Aiden was sure she would like the very most!

Week Four

Josie developed a little bit of an attention span for events other than nursing and diaper changes. She has begun to hang out a little on the floor and look around. Here reading a book.
Mark handed her dolly to her and was very happy she was "hugging" it and "kissing" it. This was the first time I noticed her exploring things with her mouth--the doll worked well because it couldn't get away but also couldn't get in her mouth.

Discovering her ceiling fan on her one month birthday!

Week Four

Josie began to have some fussy times in the evenings this week and I've been trying out a lot of things to help her feel better. She loves to be naked and so gets to spend some time just hanging out on her diaper table looking up at her mobile

Week four-First Bottle

We would really, really like for Betty to be able to feed Josie as well, so we have planned to help her learn to take bottles. This is her first attempt (and retrospectively it might be the best so far...) We have A LOT of milk saved up for her (think in gallons, not ounces) so we are still hoping that she decides it will be worth a try one day.
